The story follows Avery Grambs, a teenage girl who suddenly inherits a vast fortune from a billionaire stranger named Tobias Hawthorne, who claims to have been watching her her entire life. As Avery starts to unravel the mystery behind her inheritance and Tobias Hawthorne's true intentions, she discovers secrets that threaten to destroy everything and everyone she loves.

How I found the book? 

I had just finished reading The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo and I was looking for a book that would be a mystery. I had also seen the book on YouTube and Tiktok so I decided to give it a try.

The review

One of the strengths of the book is the character development. Avery Grambs is a relatable and likable protagonist who is easy to root for as she navigates the complex world of inheriting a fortune from a complete stranger. Throughout the story, Avery's growth as a character is evident, as she learns to navigate the difficult situations she's thrown into and becomes more confident in herself.

The plot of the book is well-crafted and expertly executed. Barnes does an excellent job of building tension and mystery throughout the story, leaving readers constantly questioning the true intentions of Tobias Hawthorne and the other characters involved. The twists and turns in the plot are well-timed and keep the story engaging and interesting. The pacing is also spot on, with just the right amount of action and suspense to keep readers engaged.

The writing in The Inheritance Games is clear and concise, making it easy for readers to get lost in the story. Barnes does a great job of describing the setting and characters in a way that allows readers to fully immerse themselves in the world of the story. The descriptions are vivid and detailed, making it easy to visualize the scenes and characters.

One of the most notable features of the book is the theme of family and friendship. Throughout the story, Avery is forced to confront the true meaning of family and the importance of the bonds she has with her loved ones. The theme of family and friendship is woven throughout the story and adds a deeper layer of meaning to the story. 

Do I recommend the book and why?

Yes.The Inheritance Games is a well-crafted and engaging young adult novel that is sure to please fans of thrillers and mysteries. The characters are likable and relatable, the plot is well thought out and expertly executed, and the writing is clear and concise. If you're looking for a thrilling and engaging read, this is definitely a book you don't want to miss.I can not wait to read other books in this series.
